If you’ve ever asked yourself, “How Do I Get My Body Into Ketosis Fast?” then this is the article for you.  I was able to get my body into ketosis after only 4 days, even after eating falafel on day 2.  I thought I had ruined it when I messed up on the second day. I just knew that it was going to take 7 days after that, but to my surprise, my body is in a high state of ketosis after only four days of eating keto.

The best way to measure if your body is in ketosis is to use ketone test strips. You can purchase these from your local GNC.  All you have to do is urinate on the strip and within 30 seconds you will know the level of ketones in your body.  The darker the color on the strip, the higher the level of ketones you have in your body.

How do I get my body into ketosisAccording to the test that I took, I was at about an 8.0.  I am was so happy to see this.  It was a huge jump from the previous day when I was at about a .5 and only showing a trace of ketosis.  This was a fast jump.

So What Is Ketosis?”

Ketosis is a natural state of the body in which the body begins to burn all of it’s fuel from fat. It also makes you feel less hungry.  It is perfect for someone like me because it prevents you from losing muscle.  Today I noticed that while the scale is not moving much, my percentage body fat as definitely decreased.

What Did I Eat to Get My Body Into Ketosis Fast?

In the mornings I primarily eat eggs and sausage. During the day I snack on blueberries and a few nuts (usually cashews and almonds). Then in the evenings I’ve been eating lean protein such as hamburger or turkey burgers with lots of greens.

Today I made Nacho Avocado Fries, which was recipe Keto Daily.  It was delicious. You can check out what it looked like below:

Cutting back my calories to lose weight and stay in ketosis

My main goal in taking this journey into the Keto lifestyle is to lose weight.  Once your body gets into ketosis you are not really hungry.  Therefore, I am hoping that I can cut back on my caloric intake and begin to incorporate intermittent fasting to help me reach my goals.

The other thing that I want to incorporate into this new lifestyle is more activities.  However, this is hard for me.  My lifestyle is so busy.  I am literally glued to the computer all day and night.  I want balance, but I don’t think this will happen until I get someone to help me take on some of my business tasks.  This will help with stress.  I don’t want to be stressed out because it might cause me to overeat. However, I do try to get in at least 10,000 steps a day and hope that this will help.

Getting Into Ketosis Fast

I think that I would have gotten into ketosis a lot faster if I had not messed up by eating falafel and if I didn’t eat so many nuts.  When you’re first starting with the keto lifestyle you can get your ketone levels up fast by sticking to a strict keto food plan with no cheating.  Here are some other things that can help:

  1. Keeping a food diary.  This will help to keep you aware of the foods you’re eating.
  2. Journaling. This helps you to stay in touch with your feelings.
  3. Tracking your carbs. Carbs are in everything.  Keeping track of your carb intake will speed things up.
  4. Understand your macros.  A good macro calculator will help you determine your daily carb needs to achieve your goals.  I found a good one here: https://keto-calculator.ankerl.com/
  5. Eat good fats and healthy proteins.
  6. Drink lots of water.

All of these things helped me to get my ketones level pretty quickly.

So far this has been an amazing journey for me. If you would like to keep track of my journey, then follow along with me by clicking the button below to subscribe to my keto lifestyle updates.
