Don’t Expect Anyone to Catch You When You Fall

If there is one thing that I have learned about this life it is that you absolutely cannot depend upon anyone to catch you when you fall. To me it doesn’t matter if you’re married or in a relationship it is not often in life that anyone will be there when you hit rock bottom.  Marriage is supposed to be for better or worse and for those who believe that they have found someone in their spouse who would be there to catch them if they fall then kudos to you. For me, I have learned that the only person who is really here for me is me and God.

Beyonce Says Sometimes You Need to be Your Own Best Friend

I don’t know about anyone else reading this blog post, but I have found this statement to be true. I have had to be my own best friend. I have had to dust myself off after every fall since July 2010 when my mom died.  And while most people fear being in this place, I must admit that I don’t have a problem with it at all.  I am comfortable with me and with being in my own skin.  I can sit and eat at restaurants by myself and go to movies by myself.  I can even travel by myself.  I am comfortable with me.

Are You Comfortable In Your Skin?

Being comfortable in your own skin is a great milestone to reach.  Not everybody gets there.  Sometimes you have to go inside in order to get out.  These past six to nine months I have been going inside of myself to really try to understand myself and my life.  And the assessment is interesting. All I am willing to say at this point is that change is in the air.  And that’s not a bad thing.  Sometimes change is good.  Today I am embracing it.

I embrace the art of loving myself

I embrace the reality of being responsible for myself

I embrace the act of being myself,  which I believe is pretty damn cool (ha-ha)

Honestly, there isn’t much that any of us can control, but the one thing that we can control is ourselves.  I understand that today if I fall I really don’t expect anyone human being to catch me, but I do expect the mighty spirit of God to reach out his hands. How about that?!!!

Doing What You Love…

Are You Putting Up With Life Or Living It?:

what you love

Confused? Don’t know what you want to do? Struggling to find real success?  Are you one of those people who are walking through life like a zombie?  Doing the same thing over and over again.  Going to a job everyday that you hate.  Living with a spouse that you can’t stand.  Dealing with ungrateful children that you just can’t satisfy. Putting up with life instead of living life.

Are you one of those people?

I sure hope not.  Life is limited by time. There is a beginning and an end. It matters much what is done in between.  I can honestly say that I’ve been working professionally for over 26 years.  And in those years I’ve changed careers several times and I’ve discovered what I like and what I don’t like.  I know what I’m good at and what I’m not so good at.  I know that I love people and I love marketing.  I love online marketing and I’m good at it.  This year, I’m going from being good to being great at online marketing.  I also love training and teaching.  It is my passion.  As we enter into the 4th quarter of I will do more of that.  I find it both fun and fascinating.  I also love to write.  It is another one of my passions.  I guess that’s why I got a Masters in Creative Writing.  And I vow to do more of that as well.

What Do You Love?

Have you figured it out yet? That thing that you can do all day and never get tired. That thing that some people will call work while to you it’s nothing but play.  What is your passion?  Until you find out what it is and pursue it without ceasing then for you the struggle will always be REAL.  I hope and pray that everyone finds their passion and begin to live it out loud.  Because honestly, I’m tired of hearing that the struggle is REAL. There is no box and no struggle other than the box that you put yourself in.  And just like you put yourself in a box, you can find your way out of it. The route is easy.  The same way you got into the box is the same way that you can get yourself out.  It all starts with doing what you love and loving yourself enough to do what you love no matter what. No excuses. Go for it.

Join me in one of my passion events…The Online Marketing Mastermind Live, taking place on Oct. 1st and 2nd where I will share all of my online marketing secrets in a private board room setting where you can get 1:1 attention.  You bring your laptop and I’ll bring my knowledge and together we will get to work and make big things happen for your brand. [Nurture your skin] Your guide to Healthy Skin

Great skin begins with an awesome cleansing regime.  Most people don’t realize that the skin is the largest organ of the body.  It is a living organ and regenerates itself on a regular basis.  However, the skin needs to be stimulated on a regular basis in order to remain healthy.

Just like when you work out your body, your muscles get stronger and better, the same thing happens with your skin.  When you stimulate your skin by washing it with a great cleansing product the results are always phenomenal.  The Nurture Skin Care Line by Soul Purpose offers the perfect skin care solution for women of all skin types.

nuture skin care

The skin is a digestive like system as well.  It absorbs what you put on it.  That’s why you must be careful with what you apply to your skin topically.  A good natural skin care solution is always better than one that is loaded with chemicals.

You can nurture your skin in 3 easy steps with the Nurture Skin Care Line.

Step 1 – Cleanse

Step 2 – Tone

Step 3- Moisturize

Additionally, if you have a special need like acne, you can also use a special serum designed to solve your skin problems like acne.

When the skin becomes dull it is because of a build up of dead skin.  Dead skin must be removed.  The only way to remove it is by sloughing it off with a good cleansing.

The skin also requires Internal Nourishment as well.  Therefore, taking a good multivitamin and drinking lots of water also helps to keep the skin hydrated and healthy.  What you put in your body is just as important as what you put on your face.  Proper nutrition is key.  A well balanced diet that is not filled with processed foods helps to keep your skin glowing.  Fresh fruits and vegetables are essential to keeping your skin looking nice and young.

If you eat a varied and nutritious diet, and it’s amazing what can happen to your skin. In one study, researchers from Monash University in Australia found people who ate the most fruits, vegetables and fish had the least amount of wrinkles.

Vitamin C is a great nutrient that is known for holding the skin together and is included in the Nurture Skin Care Line.  The skin also needs EFAs and Green Tea.  All of these supplements can be purchased at wholesale prices through Youngevity Life Sciences when you become a distributor for only $10.00.

Everyone wants beautiful skin and to stay forever young, but like everything else in life it requires work and due diligence.  Make sure that you do yours. Here’s to healthy and glowing skin!

Don’t Major in Starting and Minor in Finishing

Have you have started a lot of projects, but finished none of them?  Or does your basement or office look like the beginnings of a lot of ideas, none of which ever came to fruition?  Well, like I heard the other day on a webinar, Carrie Degraw Wilson said, “Don’t major in starting and minor in finishing.”  It’s good advice.  You should learn the lesson.

Finish What You Start

Have you ever driven in a car where the person is constantly stepping on the accelerator then easing up?  Well, I could remember one time getting in a car with one of my aunts and that’s exactly how she used to drive.  She would put her foot on the gas and then ease up.  I can remember my head just going back and forth.  I vowed to myself that I would never get in the car with my aunt again.  I love her to life but I didn’t want that experience again.  And I didn’t.  But the funny thing about this situation is the fact that this is exactly what happens in our life journey when we start and stop projects.  We keep sending ourselves into a back and forth jolt and it’s time to stop.

I used to do this a lot.  I had scarfs that I started to knit, but never finished, scrapbooks that I started but never finished, all of these projects and ideas, were just sitting and waiting for me to show up.  Then one day I had a shift in my thinking and I started to take massive action.  I remembered some time ago this game called Mortal Kombat came out and everyone used to play it.  One of the things that this game did when the person was about to win was it would say, “Finish ‘Em!”  The game was so violent, this statement meant that you were supposed to kill your opponent.  One day I started looking at my projects that way and I decided that I would “Finish ‘Em!” and I would go into massive action to finish the things that I started.

It really doesn’t take much of a shift to go into massive action.  The funny thing is that once you do kick start a project something strange happens and you tend to pick up momentum.  I guess the endorphins kick in and causes you to step it up a notch.  Or it’s like the laws of physics which says a body in motion tends to stay in motion.  You know, sometimes we have to just do what NIKE says and JUST DO IT and stop procrastinating.

How Badly Do You Want Freedom?

freedomThis was the title of an email that I received today, “How Badly Do You Want Freedom?  It was interesting to me that as I read that title and then proceeded to read the rest of the email.  I noticed that this wonderful person was trying to sell me her opportunity.  Then I boldly thought to myself, “The last time I checked slavery has been over years!”  Then I thought to myself what is it that make people feel like they’re trapped?  Why do people feel as if they’re not free, especially, when no one is forcing us to do ANYTHING AT ALL.   If you don’t want to go to work, you don’t have to.  If you don’t want to live in a house, you don’t have to?  If you don’t want to drive a car, you don’t have to.  We really don’t have to do any of these things.

People Feel Trapped by the Simple Cost of Living

Then it dawned on me that  people are trapped by the simple COST OF LIVING.  The bare necessities of life are keeping people stuck in jobs they hate, living with people they can’t stand, eating cheap food and wearing cheap clothes.  Isn’t that interesting?

Think about it.  It does actually costs money to live.  You need a roof over your head, lights, gas, phone, food, etc and these are the bare essentials.  And unless you are extremely self sufficient, you won’t be able to have any of these things without income.   We need income to supply us with the things we need and not to mention the things we want.  So what does the average person do?  Right.  They go out and get a job.  But not just any old job.  We go out and get a GOOD JOB.  Well, most of the time it’s after we’ve done a few other things like go to school, then go to college.

This is what they have called the American Dream.  But the so-called American Dream has turned into a night mare for many people.  Especially in light of the fact that many folks have gone into debt (student load debt) to try to position themselves for that so-called “good” job.

Okay.  I am ranting.  So let’s get back to the question.  What do people want to be free from?  Well, I’ll tell you.  They want to be free from:

  • Jack ass bosses
  • Student Loan Debt
  • Credit Card Debt
  • Mortgage Payments
  • Car Notes
  • Getting Up When they don’t feel like it.
  • Time Clocks
  • 1 Hour Lunch Breaks
  • Spouses they can’t stand (but are stuck with because they can’t afford to leave)

And the list goes on and on.  But the answer is not always entrepreneurship.  Sometimes the answer is finding a career instead of a job.  It may mean that you still work for someone else, but at least you’re doing what you love.  Entrepreneurship is not for everyone.  Truth be told, most people don’t have the discipline to be an entrepreneur.  Because often times what happens is you end up being  a slave to your business versus being a slave to your job.  But the difference is that those who love what they do can work on their passion all night and hop right out of bed the next day and get right back on the saddle because they love what they do.

And that’s the real key to freedom…finding something that you love to do.  Because when you do what you love, work becomes play.  Then the next thing you should attempt to do is to get the monkey off of your back or in other words, GET OUT OF DEBT.  This will give you a real since of relief when you can honestly say that you don’t owe anyone anything.

So, at the end of the day, when you want to get rid of those things that you feel are keeping you in bondage bad enough, then you will do something to change that.  And you are already FREE to make that change.  If anyone never told you before, I’m telling you now…You’re FREE to change ANY situation that you find yourself in.  So the question becomes, How Badly Do you Want To Exercise Your Freedom?

I’ve been doing some soul searching…

soul searching

Lately I’ve been doing some soul searching.  I am currently working on a big project.  One that is turning out to be not only mind blowing, but also eye-opening because in putting together this project I’ve learned so much from the people that I’m working with.  I don’t want to reveal too much about it because when it launches I want it to be a surprising treat to the people that I serve and care so much about.  But have you ever worked on something that pulled you in so deep that it made you think and wonder about your own life and what you were doing and how you were going about doing it?  Well, that’s what has happened to me over the past 30 days and it has gotten me not only inspired, but it has also got me planning and creating.  I have found myself mapping out my plans for the entire year and even into 2015.

It is amazing what happens when you realize that your life is an empty page and you can design it however you want.  This realization makes you want to take charge and take control.

The end of the year is a good time for soul searching

I am closing out the year with a positive take on life and with the realization that nothing can stop a mind that is determined to succeed.  You see my friends with each passing year I’ve gotten more and more clear and focused.  I haven’t stopped learning and because of that it has made it easier for me to understand and get clarity of thought and purpose.  I meet so many people who are confused and lack focus. And sometimes when you point them in the right direction and get them on track they still want to steer the car for some reason in the wrong direction.  I’ve been that way before.  But no more.

Yeah, I’m a little bit older and a whole lot wiser.  I definitely have some personal wounds and injuries from past pain.  I’ve been broken down by love and lifted up by love, I’ve been betrayed by so-called friends and then lifted up by true friends.  Yes. I’ve been on the roller coaster of life and I’m still on the roller coaster of life, which never ceases to amaze me.  But I am overjoyed and in awe with excitement of the reality of being afforded the gift of a new day and the power of reinvention.  That is the gift that is given to us all on a daily basis.

So, if you’ve ever done any soul searching before, you know how it feels to be filled up with possibilities. To be thankful for the gifts to honor the heartbreaks and see them for what they are – lessons learned.  This is a short and powerful journey that we’re on and if there is one thing piece of advice that I would give anyone else who is like me, taking a look back and learning a lesson, it is to act on the knowledge that you’ve received over the years.  Don’t be afraid.  Have courage and faith to take action on those things that you believe.  Take action even if you don’t know what you’re doing.  You will find your way and that’s a promise.

A Positive Attitude Begins with Positive Self Talk and Thoughts

postive-attitudeA positive attitude is an essential ingredient to success.  One way to achieve a positive attitude is by changing our self talk.  Successful people are positive thinkers and thought leaders.  They know that they can get it done and they know that they have what it takes to teach others to do the same.

It all starts with your attitude which can be changed in an instant.  It starts with being positive and constantly telling yourself that you can achieve that BIG DREAM.  Constantly affirm to yourself via positive affirmations and remember that if you have 1% doubt you’re out.  One drop of poison can kill you dead and so can negative thoughts that infiltrate your brain.  Positive affirmations yields success – Period.

Negative thoughts pop up in our minds primarily due to fear.  Fear will cause you to talk yourself out of doing the very thing that you need to do to succeed.  So, don’t pay attention to those negative thoughts when they jump into your head.  As a matter of fact do yourself a favor and wear a rubber band and every time a negative thought pops in your head, pop your wrist with that rubber band and make sure that you use it to switch your thinking.

Your thoughts will have a direct impact on your attitude.  They will determine if you’re happy or sad.  Stinking thinking usually yields a funky attitude.  When our self talk and thoughts are happy, so is our attitude.  This is not just my opinion.  Studies have shown this to be true. So, if you want to when friends and influence people, do yourself a favor and change your thoughts and self-talk.

You may also have to change the people you hang around.  Studies have shown that people generally earn the average of the 7 people they hang around the most, therefore if you’re not earning what you feel you should then maybe you should hang around new people.  This especially holds true for negative people.  Negative people not only can have a negative impact on your attitude, but they also can have a negative impact on your income.

You’ve heard the saying, “What you think about, you bring about.”  So if you control your thoughts, you can control your future.  While it is easy for me to talk about this in an article, it is not easy to do.  Real change happens one second at a time.  So, if you want to control your self-talk you will have to do it one second and one thought at a time.  But challenge yourself to do it.  You won’t regret that you did.

Preparing for a New Year

As the end of the year approaches most individuals begin to think about goals and plans for the New Year.  But before you begin to rush into planning for a New Year, it’s always a good thing to take some time out to review the accomplishments from the current year.  Try not to focus on what you haven’t achieved and make sure you spend some time focusing on what you have achieved.  Pat yourself on the back and give yourself a round of applause for all that you have done.  If you don’t celebrate you, who will?

Decide What You Want

Deciding what you want to do in the New Year is the key to making BIG things happen.  Most people struggle because they lack clear goals and purpose.  I have often said that there is nothing more powerful than a mind that is made up.  A convinced mind with laser-like focus can ignite a fire.  Lighting a fire underneath yourself is a good thing.  It’s like starting your engine.  If you decide what it is that you want and set S.M.A.R.T. (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time Sensitive) goals, you will stand a better chance of achieving them in the New Year.

Design Your Own M.A.P.

Your M.A.P. represents your very own Massive Action Plan.  Creating a solid plan of action will certainly assist you in having a successful New Year.  Breaking your goals down into bite size pieces can help you to achieve them in a more manageable fashion.  When you lay them out into smaller tasks, they become easier for you to act on them.  They become your yellow brick road to your Land of Oz.  Stay on the path until you reach your final destination.  Don’t breakdown before you breakthrough.

Life is a marathon and not a sprint.  The race is won not by the swift, but by the one who endures it til the end.  So keep going.   Make sure that you sign up for my 5-day Boot Camp to help you get clear and focused on what it is that you want to do.

PS: Believe in yourself and you will make it.

Toni
